**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a diploma in Public or Business Administration plus 5 years' recent administrative experience at a demonstrated level of responsibility which includes no less than two years supervisory experience in an office environment.
**Skills And Abilities**:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organization, leadership, supervisory, planning and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to set and maintain priorities, work under pressure and be results oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels within the organization and with external agencies and the public.
- Ability to act with tact and diplomacy under the work pressures of time and pace.
- Thorough knowledge of office management systems and a clear understanding of the interrelationship between Administration and the applicable program.
- Valid BC Driver's license.
