**Shift structure**:Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day

**About the Role**
CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.

The Unit Supervisor will:

- Oversee day-to-day functioning of unit team on their assigned shifts.
- Participate in patient intakes, facilitate parent group orientation and youth orientation, and participate in program eligibility assessment as required.
- Oversee patient care decisions as the most responsible healthcare provider on evening shifts.
- Provide electronic medial record documentation training and oversight for unit staff.
- In collaboration with the Program Manager, develop and implement program-level education/training for the unit staff.
- Assist with CASA House program development.
- Model and encourage effective communication within and between teams to promote a safe, respectful and trusting workplace culture.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager, Program Supervisor and Senior Manager, Clinical Practice to routinely review and plan improvement to enhance unit quality.
- Support program staff to utilize a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centered, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors for the patients and their family.
- Support recruitment for relevant staff and participate in interviews and selection process.
- Lead team meetings as assigned by the Program Manager.

**Qualifications**
- Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
- BScN preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in children’s mental health and/or youth addictions.
- Acute care children’s mental health experience is considered an asset.
- Must be a member in good standing with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.

**Conditions of Employment**
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
