Job Tittle: Fire Alarm Technician
**Duties**:
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in new construction and existing commercial buildings.
- Conduct system testing to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems.
- Program and configure fire alarm panels and control devices.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
- Lead a crew of workers for the installation of fire alarm systems in new construction and renovation projects.
- Assist our electrical team while working towards an apprenticeship to obtain a 309A Electrician License.
- Participate in our safety program obtaining all training certificates as required.
**Experience**:
- Previous experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or similar role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of low voltage electrical systems and wiring.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in alarm system installation and maintenance.
- Mechanical knowledge for mounting equipment and devices.
**Skills**:
- Ability to build, install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems effectively.
- Proficient in using power tools for drilling holes, running wires, running conduit, and mounting equipment.
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems for connecting wires to control panels, sensors, and other devices.
- Familiarity with hand tools for cutting wires, stripping insulation, and terminating connections.
- Understanding of electrical principles for troubleshooting wiring issues and ensuring proper connections.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of alarm systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with alarm systems and implement appropriate solutions.
