The Communications Client Services Advisor is the liaison between the Canada Post Communications team and the rest of the company. The Advisor supports internal clients by planning and executing strategies that leverage the various areas of expertise in the broader Communications team, including: Writing Services, Media Relations, Social Media and Graphic Design. Once the strategy is developed, the Advisor will often manage the execution of the communications plan, working with groups within and outside the Communications team to ensure a seamless, integrated and coordinated roll-out.

**Responsibilities**:
Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Advisor, Communications Client Services.
- Acts as the primary contact for a major client group for all of their communications needs, from one-time informational communications to significant multi-audience and multi-channel campaigns. The Advisor is expected to have a profound understanding of their clients’ projects and objectives, and how they align with the vision, direction, strategy, priorities and operational plans of the company.
- In collaboration with the client, and in discussion with other communications teams as required, develops the communications strategy. Consults with the client, and develops scope and implementation plans in support of the communications strategy.
- Project manages the development of individual communications elements as well as the execution of the overall communications plan.
- Works closely with all other communications groups (e.g. Writing Services, Media Relations, Social Media and Graphic Design), as well as other key process owners and stakeholders to ensure that all communications are aligned, effective and timely.
- Analyzes the client’s communications needs and assists them in their decisions as they pertain to communications; including, but not limited to, questioning the necessity for communications and appropriate vehicles and controlling costs.
- Provides ongoing strategic communications advice to clients throughout the planning process. Highlights issues early, and works to resolve them on behalf of their clients in advance of implementation.

**Job Responsibilities (continued)**:

- Analyzes the client’s communications needs and assists them in their decisions as they pertain to communications; including, but not limited to, questioning the necessity for communications and appropriate vehicles and controlling costs.
- Provides ongoing strategic communications advice to clients throughout the planning process. Highlights issues early, and works to resolve them on behalf of their clients in advance of implementation.
- Regularly reviews and reports on the status of campaign/project deliverables to the director, the client and other key stakeholders, as required.
- Regularly reviews internal communications channels to ensure they continue to meet the needs of their clients and makes recommendations to the larger communications team and senior executive in terms of improvements to both channels and processes.

**Qualifications**:
Education
- University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline such as Public Relations, Communications or the Arts, or a minimum of five years of relevant work experience.

Experience
- 5 + years of successful, proven experience as a communications strategist (experience is defined as the understanding of issues, how to manage them and mitigate risk, AND/OR experience developing and executing strategic communications plans for internal and external audiences, ideally in a medium-size or large organization).
- Proven ability to project manage large and complex initiatives, and assemble and lead a team that can help you execute the strategic plan.
- Superior communications skills, both verbal and written.
- A proven track record in establishing and maintaining professional relationships with important stakeholder groups.
- Sound judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Bilingualism will be considered a strong asset.
