The QC inspector uses a variety of techniques and inspection methods to determine if our components/products meet quality standards. Methods include visual inspections, measurements and functional testing of the product. An inspector must ensure that the product meets specifications in terms of its appearance and its function.

**1- Job Related Duties & Responsibilities**
- Follow quality management system policies and procedures as per AS 9100 International Standard
- Perform final, in-process and first article inspection of parts/material per AS9102
- Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
- Approve in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the production supervisor
- Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests
- Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work
- Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs
- Accomplish organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Ability to use inspection and hand tools such as microscope, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and process specifications.
- Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments. Initiate and complete the NCR/ DMR process when material found non-conforming
- Good understanding of statistical methods, math skills and computer software proficiency (i.e., Excel, Word)
- Work with EMA Manager or designee to perform internal audits on quality systems and procedures
- Manage Certified Tool List and assist with contacting customer for source tool inspection.
- Collaborates and supports continuous improvements that increases organizational clarity, maximize manufacturing process and optimize production output
- Maintain work place free of FOD and prevent ESD damage by adhering to 5S principals, following applicable policies and complete training required and regularly clean workstation by removing dust from and underneath work area
- Perform other tasks as request by department manager or lead-hand including cross training and helping other areas of the business when in need.

**2- Training, Experience, Education and Skill Requirements**
- Electromechanical Engineering technology or equivalent OR post-secondary trades certificate notably in mechanical/electrical/electronic or other related fields OR min 5 years’ experience in manufacturing of aerospace and defense. demonstrating equivalent required knowledge and competencies
- Good interpersonal communication skills/able to work in a team environment
- Solid computer skills related to word processing (Word) and Spreadsheets (Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal and communication skills
- Detail oriented with ability to detect and articulate nonconforming issues
- Able to execute multiple tasks and comfortable working in fast pace, deadline driven environment.
- Professional certification, such as Six Sigma, Quality Engineer, or Quality Auditor
- Knowledge in IPC-WHA-620, IPC-610 and J-standard
- Knowledge of quality control terminology, methods and tools
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version control practices and defect management practice
- Desire 5+ years’ experience that includes some technical background, blueprint reading and comparing parts and assemblies to customer requirements
- Organizational skills; accurate data collection, storage and retrieval
- Clear understanding of material identification, control and traceability
- Ability to identify, define and describe non-conformances or defects communicate failures and disposition of DMR
- Ability to learn and use quality ERP system
- Review and analyze test and SPC data using SPC tools, spreadsheets and other programs as required to read, analyze, and interpret common engineering drawings
- ASQ certification or a willingness to obtain certification
- Ability to work under time pressures and flexibility to adjust to sudden work patterns or schedules.
