You will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, and assisting the VP Finance in preparing other financial reports including but not limited to budgets, forecasts, and audits in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
The internal financial statements are currently being prepared in Excel and we are looking for someone with expertise in Quickbooks online who can import opening balance sheets into the online accounting software and get our financial statements transitioned quickly from Excel into Quickbooks.
What we are looking for
You have at least 3-5 years of experience working as a controller or a senior accountant for a small or mid sized company, preferably with experience with a start-up company. You have experience compiling financial statements using Excel spreadsheets and experience with Quickbooks online.
You have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, as well as Canadian GAAP and CRA regulations, including SR&ED tax credit.
You have excellent skills in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and auditing, and you are proficient in using accounting software (Quickbooks Online) and Microsoft Office.
You have strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and you can effectively communicate financial information to various audiences, fluent in English.
You have a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct, and you are able to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
You are a team player, a leader, and a problem solver, and you are able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
You are able to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. Be able to operate independently in a work from home environment.
Professional maturity including strong interpersonal skills, tact and discretion, high aptitude for quantitative tasks, including financial analysis
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality regarding the firm’s internal affairs and client information.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
