**A little bit about the role**:
We’re searching for a Senior Buyer/Planner to join ORBCOMM as a part of our Manufacturing team. Working with several different teams in the Ottawa office, this role will be focused on providing support on a broad range of responsibilities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and execute quotes with vendors and expedite Purchase Orders
- Work closely with our contract manufacturers and vendors to source hard to find materials
- Responsible for Purchase Price Variance approvals and analysis based on Contract Manufacturers requests
- Work closely with our planning/engineering team to support material requirements for New Product Introduction
- Responsible for portfolio inventory, supply risks and PPV to generate the best financial outcome and product availability
- Ensure that all portfolio material has arrived on specified dates (vendor follow-up on past due)
- Resolve and document purchase order discrepancies such as non-conformances, shortages, or price discrepancies with suppliers
- Participate in researching and negotiating commodity purchases. Compile price data from various suppliers and prepare purchase documents
- Analyze usage history of inventory stock items and market conditions. Suggest changes to the commodity purchase plan and safety stock level
- Participate in regular materials meetings
- Ensure purchase transactions are carried out in a timely manner
- Plan part replenishment based on min/max levels

**Requirements**:

- 8-10 years manufacturing experience purchasing/planning in a high-tech environment
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management or a diploma in Business, Supply Chain &

Operations management
- Knowledge of manufacturing change control including experience with Agile
- Proficient in ERP systems (JD Edwards) and supplier management
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment and take initiative in dealing with a variety of

duties and responsibilities
- Ability to influence change
