We are looking for a
**_Reinsurance Analyst_**

**Role description**

This position provides administrative services for Assumed Traditional Life Reinsurance business for Canada Life, Canada Life Reinsurance Ireland, Canada Life Barbados, and Great-West Life Financial. The Reinsurance Analyst works closely with the Quality Assurance, Data Management, Reporting and Claims teams as well as with other internal and external clients.

**What you will do**
- Provides administration for Assumed Reinsurance business including the set up of new business and maintenance of inforce policies on a bulk basis.
- Interprets Assumed and Retroceded Treaties (contracts) to ensure reinsurance administration falls within agreement terms.
- Analyzes premiums and inforce, including balancing and calculation of premiums and payments and review of policy changes to update net amount at risk.
- Communicates with internal and external clients regarding payments, reporting variances and new business or audit inquiries.
- Prepares and distributes monthly Retroceded Statements including disbursements of funds due client.
- Assists Quality Assurance with internal and external audits by investigating any inconsistencies or issues that arise from audits.
- Reviews and analyses monthly, quarterly, and annually administrative reports.
- Maintains turn-around times for meeting processing targets.

**What you will bring**
- Post secondary education and/or industry related courses (LOMA, FLMI, ARA, ACS)
- Knowledge of individual insurance products and reinsurance administration an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel (proficient in Pivot Tables and Formatting), Word, Outlook, Access).
- Administrative experience an asset.
- Basic accounting knowledge.
- Sound organizational, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
