**Job Description**:
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water Resources Technical Leader who also has a strong client base. This position can be based out of any of our Canadian offices. It is anticipated this role with be approximately 50% billable to projects and 50% focused on business development.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Work with the Canada Water Resources Lead to develop the strategy to advance AECOM’s position in the Water Resources market sector across Canada.
- Project leadership in the areas of design, analysis, and construction on various surface water projects and able to resolves complex issues
- Help to recruit talent to grow the water resources practice
- Develops and executes strategic initiatives to grow the Dams and Irrigation Practice in Canada
- Leading and preparation of proposals.
- Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and designs
- Mentor and develop the technical abilities of staff within the Practice
- Participate in the AECOM Technical Practice Group (Canada) for water resources topics
- Competent to serve as Engineer-of-Record on design and design-build projects
- Identify top pursuits and key pursuits in the Water Resources market sector across Canada.
- Establishing relationships and regular touch bases with key clients within the market sector.
- Aiding Operation Management in the identification and solicitation of key hires within the market sector to capitalize on growth and deploy succession planning.
- Lead and represent the local market sector to the internal AECOM network including Canada’s Water Region Business Line Leader (RBLL), Director of Operations, Americas Water Business Line Market Sector Leaders for any internal AECOM business function and reporting needs.
- Researches, interprets and reports client trends for the purpose of formulating strategy.
- In coordination with Regional Water leadership, support in the client follow-up coming from client feedback surveys. Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients.
**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources or Civil Engineering
- 8+ years of progressive experience in the field of water resources and heavy civil projects with an emphasis on surface water in Canada.
- Registered as a professional engineer in at least one province
- Knowledge of water resources policies and practices
- Experience delegating to less experienced staff is an asset
- Demonstrated experience in pursuing and winning opportunities in Canada with a strong reputation in the Canadian dam market.
- Proven experience in leading and building multi discipline teams
- Experience in proposal preparation including determining work scope, preparing time task breakdowns and preparing text sections on technical approach, team and project experience, etc.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
