Waste Control Service (WCS) is a private, locally owned, and operated waste and recycling collections company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste. We offer collection services and consultation for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region. We have a head office and shop in Coquitlam B.C. and two recycling yards in North Vancouver where we primarily process some of the recycling we regularly collect from our customers, which also operates as a recycling and secure shredding facility open to the community.

Who we are looking for:
Our team is growing, and we are seeking an individual passionate about the environment to work out of our Coquitlam facility. Reporting to the General Manager, the primary responsibility of the Operations Manager is to ensure the operational effectiveness of our Coquitlam and North Vancouver facilities to achieve all targets, budgets, objectives, and goals while maintaining a safe work environment. This is a hands-on position and requires someone with the ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent decision-making and analytical skills. **Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the operations effectiveness of both Coquitlam and North Vancouver facilities.
- Develop and implement short term/long-term operational strategies that support the company’s vision.
- Develop and manage operational budgets that promote profitability.
- Prepare final analysis reports and provide recommendations for business effectiveness.
- Identify and target areas the business can improve operations and develop KPI’s.
- Develop, implement, and maintain process improvement initiatives and management systems.
- Develop policies and procedures and encourage adherence.
- Lead, develop, mentor, supervisors, and teams to ensure development and competency of employees through setting expectations and holding individuals accountable to meet those expectations.
- Build strong positive relations with suppliers, customers, and staff for consistency and improving practices.
- Promote a positive safety culture through leadership.
- Ensures overall customer service levels are met and customer expectations are surpassed.
- Other duties as assigned.

To be Successful:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
- 5 years leadership experience with knowledge of labour relations.
- Proficient in directing and leading within a unionized work environment and working collaboratively with cross functioning teams.
- Highly motived self-starter with the ability to make decisions with integrity, resolve conflict in a timely and effective manner and support company objective and policies.
