** - OEM Buyer/Purchasing Specialist**

OEM Buyer/Purchasing Specialist function is primarily responsible for sourcing, developing, and maturing Automotive OEM Components for new model, mass production & service programs OEM for various locations of Hitachi Astemo in AM region. This process involves a thorough analytical review of costs associated with material, manufacturing processes and an overall evaluation of supplier’s capabilities.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Responsible for cost competitive sourcing of components from global suppliers.
- Benchmark the existing parts’ cost with global suppliers and other Astemo sites to explore resourcing and cost down opportunities.
- Able to understand, analyze and implement cost down ideas as per business unit targets.
- Report to management on all supply and cost-related issues, take appropriate approvals for any abnormal cost impacts.
- Communicate with customers & suppliers throughout the development and production stages of new models and Mass Production OEM components.
- Initiate corrective actions for customer concerns.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, R&D, New Model and Quality teams to ensure a smooth New Model launch.
- Formulate ideas to submit to R&D on cost reduction through VA method.
- Assist sales with developing quotes, Maintain and update any files or drawings related to new models.
- Issuance of drawings and requests for quotations,
- Creation and maintenance of Cost Control Forms (CCF), Support the evaluation of cost and setting maker layout for business.
- Creation and issuance of New Model event related purchase orders.
- Supporting off-hour meetings with globally located colleagues and suppliers, when required.
- Perform onsite supplier audits and create deviation reports including corrective action issuance.
- Support and evaluate costs relating to mass production design changes.
- Support supplier development and improvement activities and control issuance of quarterly supplier scorecard.
- Update and maintain the approved supplier list, verifying supplier system certification (ISO14000, ISO9000 & TS16949)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience on a Buyer role.
- Ability to read OEM component CAD drawings.
- Proficient with MS Office products, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience using analytic tools and software.
- Possess a valid Passport and able to travel internationally.
- Experience within automotive or manufacturing sector.

**QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION**
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or Business Administration equivalent discipline.
- PMAC or CPIM designations would be an asset.
- Experience on Auditing Supplier’s Quality management systems would be an asset.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Daily activities are centered in an office setting/manufacturing setting and comply with all personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability to work overtime hours as required and shifts outside your structured shift assignment.
