**Brief Overview**:
In addition to work on the Climate Strategy Co-Development, the Environmental Policy Analyst will be required to:

- Liaise with contractors on this work, as required
- Attend workshops and events related to Climate Change on behalf of the Ministry, including the annual Métis-Canada Joint Climate Change Table
- Support the MN-S Ministry of Lands and Environment and department of Policy and Research in developments of various policies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Preparation of documentation, reports, and other written or verbal presentation of findings
- Plan, execute, and report on community engagement activities, surveys, and interviews with Metis citizens regarding policy
- Prepare recommendations for the strategy co-development with CIRNAC
- Develop and set strategic professional and departmental goals and objectives in coordination with the Environmental Team.
- Prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on program delivery.
- Support other work within the Ministry and other departments as required
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Métis citizens, communities, and organizations.
- Work with Federal program managers to ensure delivery of key aspects of proposals
- Development of centralized archives and collection of data in accordance with the principles of free, prior, and informed consent of all participants
- Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the Director of Environment or Environmental Program Manager

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors Degree from a recognized university with a background in Indigenous/Aboriginal studies, political science, public policy development/administration, and/or a related discipline
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience that relates to the duties and responsibilities of this role may be considered

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Strong communication skills including speaking, writing, and active listening skills
- Strong time-management skills along with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, organizational skills, and effective decision-making abilities
- Skills in general administrative functions, including accurate typing, filing, ordering office supplies, maintaining office supplies and equipment
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills
- Knowledge of models of Indigenous/Aboriginal governance, trends, Indigenous/Aboriginal funding programs, legislation and issues facing Metis or Indigenous peoples in Canada
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic approaches within organizations through effective policy development, collaboration and working partnerships with government, industry and stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in policy and program development, evaluation and strategic planning
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, budget development, financial and project management/leadership skills
- Fully competent in Microsoft Offfice Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project)
- Excellent research, analytical, problem-solving and strategic planning skills

**Additional Requirements**:

- Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access reliable transportation
- Must undergo a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector
- Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00-$77,681.00 per year
