**DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES**

***: We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Director of Human Resources to join our team. This position will supervise and direct all Human Resource functions and ensure a student-centered approach to all processes relating to recruitment, hiring, personnel administration, compensation, performance management, labour and employee relations, training and development.This position is responsible to the Assistant Superintendent - Human Resources.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Masters Degree or applicable HR education/experience;
- Demonstrated ability to give high quality verbal and written feedback;
- Flexible and adaptable with a high tolerance for ambiguity;
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills;
- Successful experience related to Human Resources;
- Integrity, trustworthiness, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and high attention to detail;
- Progressive administrative leadership experience of 5 years or more; Division Office leadership experience would be an asset;
- CPHR Designation/working towards one or willingness to complete HR coursework;
- Ability to speak French would be considered an asset.

**GENERAL DUTIES**:

- Participate actively in Division Leadership;
- Develop positive relationships with all stakeholders in BRSD;
- Develop organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; analyze and make recommendations to the organization’s strategic planning, thinking and direction;
- Facilitate conflict resolution and labour relations for all employee groups;
- Establish human resources priorities and processes in line with the organizational objectives included in BRSD’s Three Year Education Plan.
- Ensure BRSD’s human resources practices are compliant within the guidelines, legislation, regulations and reporting requirements of the federal and provincial governments, including but not limited to: Freedom of Information and Protections of Privacy (FOIP) and Human Rights Legislation, Workers Compensation Board (WCB), Local Authority Pension Plan (LAPP), Alberta Teachers Retirement Fund (ATRF), Alberta School Employees Benefit Plan (ASEBP), Division collective agreements and Division handbooks;
- Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating administrative procedures, methods, and guidelines;
- Communicate and enforce organization values;
- Monitor, assist and execute the recruitment, selection, placement, and transfer of employees;
- Implement and manage documentation of employees with HR management software;
- Conduct workplace investigations as needed in conjunction with Assistant Superintendent;

Additional duties will be determined in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent - Human Resources. Responsibilities also include working with Senior Leadership to provide leadership for the division, while collaborating with other system leaders across the province. This full-time position is based out of the division office in Camrose, is out of scope. Some travel may be required.
