**HEAD CHILD & YOUTH INSTRUCTOR**

As a member of the Community Services Department, this staff person will provide children with an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills in a variety of general or special interest activities in a friendly, engaging, and caring environment. This position reports directly to the Youth Programmer.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring the safety and supervision of the participants and following all rules and regulations set out by the Department and/or outside organizations.
- Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the activities being led to ensure a successful program.
- Responsible for the proper handling, cleanliness, and care of the equipment, supplies, and facilities and to report any damages or losses to the supervisor.
- Ensure the completion and submission of the required administrative forms (lesson plans, injury reports, supply requests, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Attend all Staff Training sessions and scheduled staff meetings, as required.

**Education/Specialized Training**:

- Post-secondary student or graduate. Child-related field is considered an asset.
- Hold a valid Standard First Aid & CPR ‘C’ certificate.
- High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development certificate considered an asset.

**Work Experience**:

- Minimum of two (2) years/seasons experience leading children’s programs.
- Minimum of two (2) years administrative experience.
