**Human Resources Business Partner**

**Job Overview and Responsibilities**:
Drive strategic alignment of HR practices within the Quebec team, by guiding people leaders and cultivating an organization of highly engaged teams. Drive strategic alignment of HR practices within region and across the organization, by guiding people leaders and cultivating a high performance organization.

Primary responsibilities include the following (but are not limited to):
**Employee Relations**
- Act as a point of contact on escalated HR matters within assigned regions and client groups in the Lab Services organization in Quebec.
- Review, revise and ensure adherence and compliance to HR policies, procedures and programs with applicable employment legislation
- In partnership and in consultation with People Leaders, find solutions to employee relations issues and concerns, actively involve respective and key stakeholders
- Provide guidance to management on employee relations issues and recommend corrective actions including involuntary terminations
- Engage in HR projects locally or nationally; champions company led initiatives
- Facilitate programs to identify future leaders, set career paths and implement competency based performance management tools

**Supporting Talent Acquisition**
- Partner with hiring managers on mapping resource needs and driving resource management according to forecasts and budget
- Ensure all appropriate approvals are obtained
- Actively participate in the selection decision making

**Employee Experience**
- Manage new hire onboarding program and implement updates as needed
- Compile employee feedback (45-Day check-ins, probationary reviews, exit interviews, etc.) and drive action items with management
- Lead employee recognition and rewards programs
- Manage employee engagement survey strategy and employee engagement initiatives
- Develop and nurture ongoing relationship with existing client group, work to anticipate their needs and meet and exceed their expectations
- Act as “communication champion” to ensure that all staff are kept informed of new information
- Support all local Compensation and Benefits programs and initiatives
- Provide guidance to employees on benefits program components
- Resolve issues regarding STD, LTD and WCB claims
- Support management on compensation decisions
- Liaise with payroll for escalated employee inquiries

**Training and Development**
- Recommend, develop and execute training plans as required
- Provide mentoring and guidance to the Leadership and more junior HR team within the full scope of the HR function
- Ensure training hours are diligently recorded in the system

**Other**
- Effectively manage HR tracking systems and maintain applicable scorecards
- Analyze and utilize HR data to assist with recommendations for continuous improvement
- Support Early and Safe Return to Work process in collaboration with the OH&S department and the WSIB/WCB, STD/LTD providers, as required
- Partner with other sections of the company (Finance, IT, etc.) as needed
- Ensure protection of private information
- Adhere to Company’s safety policies and procedures
- Other tasks and duties as assigned

Is there a mutual fit? You ideally have:

- Human Resources Certificate or equivalent post-secondary education
- CPHR designation achieved or in progress
- 3 to 5 years of experience in direct provision of Human Resources services
- Knowledge of provincial and federal legislation
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential material in a professional manner, using tact and discretion when dealing with people
- Excellent initiative, combined with planning, analytical and decision making skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Change management skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook), and HRIS databases (data entry and report production)

- Hybrid between home and office
