**Position Description**
The Acute Care and Clinical Services is seeking a full-time, permanent Program Assistant to work in the Emergency Department. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will contribute to the organization and optimal function of the Emergency Department under the direction of the clinical staff and promote maintenance of the therapeutic milieu as a member of the interprofessional team. You will contribute to and participate in the assessment of designated patients and provide them direct patient care. You will also accompany patients for medical clearance and for any other transfers as deemed necessary. In addition to communicating both verbally and in writing about behavioural observations, assessments and patient's response to care interventions, the incumbent will assume an active role in maintaining both dynamic and static security elements of the program and service. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position involves shift rotation and weekend work. This position is located at 1051 Queen Street West and is 12 hour shifts.

**Qualifications**

**Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.**

**Please Note**:This full-time, permanent position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.

**Salary Range**:$21.17 - $26.10 per hour
