Production Technician

**SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate conditioning equipment to sample, grade, clean, treat and package seed (soybeans and wheat) that meets ISO 9001 standards and other quality requirements.
- Monitor and perform corrective machine adjustments to ensure that a consistent and quality product is produced.
- Perform general equipment troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs as needed to ensure consistent output of product.
- Assist the production/packaging line in a variety of positions, including but not limited to, bagging and palletizing.
- Safely and efficiently move bulk seed by operating augers, conveyors, pneumatic grain vacs and other material handling equipment.
- Participate in daily housekeeping and clean down tasks (machinery, facility and yard clean up).
- Complete and maintain appropriate records (i.e., production output, quality, safety, etc.).
- Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
- Maintain work area in a clean and professional manner at all times, ensuring proper tools and equipment is available when needed.
- Perform daily inspection of tools and equipment, reporting any hazards to the supervisor.
- Work in compliance with all administrative and health and safety policies and procedures, as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies.
- Report process deficiencies and any administrative or health and safety policy or procedural infractions, as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies, to your direct reporting supervisor/manager, or other designate as applicable, for review.
- Assist in all departments, as required and directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Means of daily/reliable transportation to and from our location in Dover Centre.
- Ability to work in a quality, results driven and fast paced work environment.
- Be prepared and punctual for scheduled shifts.
- Be positive and courteous at all times, while maintaining a professional demeanor; be an ambassador for Devolder Farms Inc.
- Ability to work cooperatively with team to execute tasks.
- Ability to work in any outdoor work environments (i.e., hot/humid and cold work elements).
- Physically demanding tasks (i.e., lifting, bending and standing/sitting for long periods of time).
- Ability to individually lift and load heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work extended hours or additional shifts when required.
- Participate in compulsory training as deemed necessary for the role.
- CSA steel toed construction grade safety boots in designated area(s).
**QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
- Previous work experience with production, conditioning and packaging of seed products and working within an ISO 9001 regulated environment an asset (or transferable skills and abilities from work experience in a similar work environment).
- Valid lift truck training and certification an asset (in-house training offered).
- Previous experience operating farm machinery and tractors is an asset.
- Willingness to work at heights preferred; valid training certification is an asset.
- Other valid training certifications are considered an asset and any related previous work experience should be highlighted; i.e., Working at Heights, Fall Arrest, Aerial Lift, Elevated Work Platforms, Hoisting and Rigging, Confined Space, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining speed and accuracy to ensure daily work requirements are met.
- Excellent oral and listening communication skills and cooperative team player attitude.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Highly motivated and extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification an asset.
**COMPENSATION**
- Hourly wage starting at $23.11/hr
