Chef in Childcare Centre

We are looking for a chef for our childcare program, Kids' Stop Children's Centre Position is Monday to Friday. Includes food preparation, cooking, cleaning, grocery ordering, and maintaining health standards. Two snacks and lunch are provided to approximately 70 children each day.

Our program is located in Drake Landing in Okotoks, AB.

**What You Will Need**:

- Food Safety certification
- Criminal Record Clearance & Vulnerable Sector Search
- First Aid & CPR
- Child Care Cook experience preferred
- Child Care Certification preferred

The chef is responsible for some menu planning with the Director/Owner, daily preparation of nutritional meals and snacks served to the children in accordance with the Canada Food Guide. Responsible for making serving adjustments to the age groups and number of children enrolled each day. The kitchen is to be managed and the work of the chef is to be conducted in strict compliance with Alberta Heath Services and Child Care Licensing Regulations. The chef works in consultation with the Director to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and its coordination with the other rooms in the centre.
- Ensure the kitchen is organized, clean, safe, and is in hygienic conditions at all times
- Deliver and collect lunch/snack trays to/from all rooms at specific times
- Complete clean up after each meal (ie. floors/dishes/counter tops, etc.)
- Regular inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies
- Each week supply a grocery list in consideration with the centre’s budget and consultation of the Director.
- Maintain open communication with employees and parents/guardians regarding children’s dietary restrictions and allergies
- Assist in first aid as required
- Attend employee meetings
- Completes all necessary paperwork
