What you’ll do

Reporting to the QC Manager, the QC Associate will be responsible for work both in and out of the laboratory. This includes the completion of testing with associated documentation for both internal and client programs. The Associate will also draft documents and perform activities as required to support lab operations. The role will require close interaction with members of the extended Biopharma Operations team.
- Conduct analytical testing as required for raw materials, lipid excipients, RNA-based APIs, lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations and other materials used in the production of genomic nanomedicines
- Draft SOPs, test methods, specifications and protocols applicable to QC group operations
- Conduct activities in compliance with all applicable SOPs and follow good documentation practices
- Conduct method qualification or verification activities as applicable
- Handle and manage samples and standards as required to enable testing
- Oversee material & consumable inventories to ensure sufficient supplies and uninterrupted lab operations
- Coordinate sample shipments to external testing labs, communicate material and testing requirements
- Review and trend data as applicable, ensure appropriate documentation handling & filing
- Adhere to all lab safety and cleanliness requirements
- Work closely with the manufacturing teams to complete testing in a timely manner and resolve issues that arise
- Initiate and participate in deviations, OOS and investigations, corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs)
- Mentor and train other QC personnel on lab operations and test methods as applicable
- Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are
- Minimum BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences or relevant discipline with at least 2 years of industry experience in Quality Control or Analytical Development, ideally in a GMP regulated environment
- Experience with testing and characterization of lipid nanoparticles is preferred
- Experience using a range of analytical equipment including HPLC / UPLC, Capillary Electrophoresis, GC, DLS particle sizer, plate reader, UV/vis, pH meter, osmometer, Karl Fischer, etc. an asset
- Strong technical writing skills are required
- Must be a resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented individual
- The individual must be a team player who is also capable of independent work
- Good communication, organizational and time-management skills
- A proven ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated / self-starter
