Bring your analytics expertise to the City of Edmonton as an Infrastructure Maintenance Operations Analyst._**

As the **Operations Analyst**, you will report to the Supervisor Maintenance Business Performance & Analytics and will be responsible for providing analytical and business performance support to units and programs within Infrastructure Maintenance.

You will be responsible to develop, report and analyze section, unit and program key performance indicators in accordance with targets established by leadership. You will create enhanced reporting for the section using Tableau and SAP and support the section leadership with meaningful and user friendly reports. You will provide data quality control by systematically reviewing data for inconsistencies, as well as translating the data into information to enable effective decision making. Additionally, you will support unit general supervisors and program managers/supervisors in analyzing financial variances and completing program and unit monthly operational reports. Ultimately, your role will ensure the provision of timely and accurate information from which to make sound decisions and hold people accountable.

As the Operations Analyst, you will support three key functions:
Analysis and Performance Management
- Recommend program, unit and section-level KPIs that align with Branch level KPI and Enterprise Performance Management
- Produce Program Performance management reports in accordance with established section and unit framework and cadence
- Develop Tableau dashboards, data visualizations, graphical models, and reports to provide the pulse of operations
- Produce reports in accordance with LEAN objectives and requirements
- Conduct trend and variance analysis of operational results using statistical mapping/mathematical and graphic tools
- Interpret data, highlight the areas of concern, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead initiatives to improve data accuracy
- Engage applicable SMEs, as well as internal and external stakeholders to gather relevant data
- Monitor operations service levels and delivery to produce weekly, monthly, and annual reports
- Collaborate with stakeholders in their production of Branch and Corporate dashboards
- Monitor the section and unit component of Branch, Department and Corporate dashboards
- Provide data and analysis to support specific objectives such as council reports or continuous improvement projects

Integration of Operations with Financial Results
- Support the unit monthly financial variance analysis to explain budget variances and operational deviations from plan
- Monitor program and unit financials throughout the month to ensure costs are correctly captured and to proactively identify items that will require explanation during the formal monthly review
- Ensure alignment between program cost centres, profit centres and corresponding work breakdown structures
- Collaborate with program managers to determine the relationship between operational accomplishments and financial results
- Provide regular audits and liaise with business area stakeholders (Eng Techs, Admin, Financial Analysts) to determine the root cause of any discrepancies or concerns
- Track alignment between operational measures and financial results; identify and analyze anomalies to determine root causes
- Outside of core operational periods, assist with unit maintenance planning through data analysis and process development
- Create SAP orders to track expend in accordance with established procedures

Data Management and Collection Oversight
- Create, join, blend and clean up data from various data sources using Microsoft SQL Server, Tableau, Internal Data Portal database and other software solutions
- Create data dictionaries and maintain data sources applicable to the area
- Understand and recognize system data errors/issues and system limitations
- Create documentation including KPI Registers, Business Process Description and flowcharts
- Utilize SAP for effective reporting and data validation including but not limited to Notifications, Work Order and PS01 (Plan vs Actual) reports
- In partnership with Business Integration, ensure alignment of data management systems within Parks and Roads Services
- Continuously monitor and audit data quality, both operational and financial and recommend/incorporate corrective measures/improvements
- Collaborate with branch partners to elevate business performance
