**Shift**:UNIFOR PT, Week 1 - TUES 0730-1530, WED 0730-1530, FRI 0730-1530; Week 2 - TUES 0730-1530, WED 0730-1530; THURS- 9-1700

As a member of the Fracture Clinic, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides direct care for patients of various ages who have undergone a variety of surgical procedures and interventions. RPN's are key members of our interdisciplinary teams. Delivering exceptional care to our patients and ensuring a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, our RPNs also:

- Support and promote collaborative team practices
- Utilize evidence-based practices and analysis of outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement and promote professional accountability
- Consult with our multidiscipline teams to ensure our patients receive the highest level of care and support

**Qualifications**:

- Current Registration Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Experience preferred assisting with minor surgical procedures in orthopedic, general and plastic surgery
- Experience preferred setting up and maintaining sterile fields, wound care, dressing changes and suture/staple removal
- Preference will be given to a Registered Practical Nurse who has previous experience with minor surgical procedures.
- Ability to function independently in clinical areas with rapid pace and high turnover
- Collaboration and communication skills with patients and health professionals
- Ability to adapt to various clinical settings and provide appropriate nursing care to patients whose acuity and degree of illness vary
- Effectively communicates patient education for follow up and wound care.
