Job Description:
**SAFETY MANAGER, SPECIAL PROJECTS**
Victoria / Swartz Bay

As Safety Manager, Special Projects, you utilize your safety expertise and project management skills to support short, medium and long-term operational safety projects in accordance with corporate objectives and in support of Safety & Health at BC Ferries.

Reporting to the Director, Safety Management System, your key responsibilities include: collaboration with cross-departmental operational teams; providing safety guidance with respect to safe work practices, policies and regulations; facilitation; proposal writing; implementation strategy development; and communication - all in support of successful project execution and delivery. You will ensure project documentation and record management is maintained to a high standard and provide change management and project sustainment support.

You are passionate about safety and making a difference, you lead with integrity, you seek to understand operational challenges in order to provide effective and long-lasting solutions, you maintain a high degree of professionalism, and you have a demonstrated ability to make sound decisions. You are a proven collaborator, communicator and facilitator with excellent report writing and public speaking skills. You work well under pressure and can effectively delegate and manage competing priorities.
