**Key Responsibilities**

As a RECE at WVCP, you will:

- **Plan and Implement Programs**: Design engaging, developmentally appropriate, and inclusive programming that aligns with _How Does Learning Happen?_ Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years.
- **Create a Supportive Learning Environment**: Foster a safe, stimulating, and welcoming classroom that encourages exploration and curiosity.
- **Observe and Document Learning**: Use reflective practices to observe children, document their development, and adapt programming to meet their individual and group needs.
- **Build Strong Relationships**: Establish positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, promoting collaboration and open communication.
- **Bilingual Communication**: Effectively communicate with children, families, and colleagues in both English and French, ensuring inclusivity for all community members.
- **Behavior Guidance**: Implement positive, intentional behavior management strategies that support emotional regulation and resilience.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with other educators and staff to uphold the preschool’s values and vision.
- **Professional Development**: Engage in ongoing learning and training opportunities to stay informed of best practices in early childhood education.
- **Compliance and Safety**: Ensure compliance with ministry regulations, licensing requirements, and WVCP policies, including health and safety standards.

**Qualifications and Requirements**

We are looking for someone who brings the following to our team:

- **Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)**: Must be a member in good standing with the **College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)**.
- **Bilingual Proficiency**: Fluency in English and French, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
- **Experience in Early Learning**: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in early childhood settings preferred.
- **Knowledgeable in Pedagogy**: Strong understanding of _How Does Learning Happen?_ and the ability to implement its principles in daily practice.
- **Passion for Inclusion**: Experience working with children of varying abilities, including those with exceptionalities, and using adaptive strategies.
- **Strong Communication Skills**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to build relationships with families from diverse backgrounds.
- **Organizational Skills**: Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate documentation, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- **CPR and First Aid Certification**: Must hold valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
- **Vulnerable Sector Check**: A clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to employment.
