**Position**

The Research Assistant will liaise with research partners, clinical staff, and other sites as well as facilitate communication between team members, support the day-to-day operations of studies, track overall milestones and study targets to ensure timely recruitment and completion of studies.

**Duties**

**Research Study Support (90%)**
- Conducts study procedures within the required timelines outlined in study protocols
- Prepares consent forms, ethics submissions, renewals, amendments and close-out reports
- Recruit and consent families into the studies
- Data collection, entry, verification, data follow-up with participants, data tracking
- Screens potential participants as per inclusion/exclusion criteria and enrolls potential participants as per respective study requirements
- Present status reports and summaries as requested for projects
- Keeps PI informed as to recruitment protocol, progress of the projects, and serious adverse events or safety issues in relevant studies
- Interacts with healthcare and research staff involved in the conduct of study procedures (e.g., clinical staff, other research staff)
- Understands and adheres to study protocols and procedures
- Design and/or review study materials (e.g., data collection forms, recruitment flyers)
- Responsible for data collection and data entry/tracking including data from questionnaires and standardized measures as well as qualitative data from interviews and other sources (e.g. Focus Groups).
- Entering collected data into the appropriate electronic databases; retrieving additional data or correcting existing data; issuing and responding to data queries
- Maintains study documents
- Provides support to and coordinates with external site(s) participating in study procedures as necessary

**General Research Support (10%)**
- Conducting literature search/reviews
- Conducts activities to increase study awareness, organization, and accountability to ensure recruitment targets are met
- Updating and formatting of the PI's CV.

**Qualifications**
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an approved university training program is required.
- Two years of research-related experience, including knowledge of research design, data collection, data tracking, and data analysis.
- Recruitment and marketing experience including social media platforms is an asset.
- Experience with SPSS or other relevant statistical programs, RedCap, and RefWorks for literature reviews is an asset.
- Experience with Canadian Common CVs would also be an asset.
