Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Marketing Coordinator will execute the branch marketing and communications activity in line with the wider National Markets marketing strategy.

The Opportunity:
The marketing department at Markel Canada is growing and looking to add a fun, high performing individual to its team of motivated and talented marketers and sales leads. Markel Canada is a leading liability insurer with many specialty products to support its portfolio. The marketing department supports our product lines by delivering innovative and bespoke concepts, campaigns, content, events, analytics and engagement tools to deliver effective messaging on products and Markel’s overall brand and presence in Canada.

The investment in our marketing team is testament to the value the business places in the marketing function and the key role it will play in achieving its growth objectives.

This has created an exciting opportunity within the team, for a new role within the Sales and Marketing team, supporting the delivery of the Canadian marketing plan. This role represents a fabulous opportunity to forge an exciting career in marketing.

What you'll be doing:

- Supporting the marketing and communications team delivery of the channel marketing plans.
- Supporting the reporting and tracking of all marketing activity and measurement of ROI.
- Ensuring the channel deliverables reflect the key marketing messages and are executed in a timely manner within budgetary controls.
- Being an effective member of the marketing team, working closely with Product Line Leaders, Business Development and Global business teams to deliver the plan.
- Ensure that all collateral and communications are on brand.
- Striving to deliver best practice across all activities.

Our must haves:

- Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and work with team framework.
- Analytical analysis ability and strengths in understanding and interpreting KPIs and performance data.
- Passion for building relationships and getting to know people and their needs, both digitally and in person.
- Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines and work on a number of projects at once.
- An interest in promoting and building positive community and company culture.
- Post-secondary degree / diploma in business or marketing.
- Skills that are an additional asset are: photography, videography, graphic design, social media, public relations. Supplying a portfolio of creative work will suffice.
