**Job Description - Recreation Student Part-Time Evenings and Weekends**

As a Recreation Student, you would be reporting to the Spiritual Care, Transitions, and Support Care Coordinator of St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre, on tasks related to sports, games, movies, crafts, music, and other recreational activities. You would be responsible for setting up equipment for activities and cleaning up once the event is over. You would also have an active role in ensuring all residents maintain a healthy day-to-day living quality up to each of their specific needs and capabilities.
- High degree of interpersonal skills.
- Currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary program.
- Experience in a hospital, long-term care, or retirement setting is desirable.
- Computer skills would be an asset.
- Received at least two (2) doses of a Health Canada-approved Covid-19 vaccine.

The Recreation student supports program delivery within the home.

**Key responsibilities include**:
**I**ncluding but not limited to:

- Set-up, porter, facilitate and clean-up group activities.
- Document using Activity Pro software.
- The employee will work in accordance with all the policies and procedures of the facility.
- The employee will work in a safe and healthy manner and will follow the regulations outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form using critical thinking skills.
