Job Summary
The PIM Project Draftsperson is responsible for working with the Product Drawings Coordinator on PIM Projects of a technical nature, delegated from our Oakville team. This role will be temporarily located at our office in North York, Ontario for the next 12-18 months. After the 12-18 months, the role will be based out of our Oakville office.
**Principal Responsibilities**
- Reverse engineering of products, parts & components into CAD software using a variety of tools and techniques, including 3D scanners, hand tools, CMM
- Create and revise technical drawings and CAD models following IPEX, US and Canadian standards and specifications
- Assess team output, reviewing and correcting issues as required
- Assist Drawings coordinator with specific requests via the drawing workflow & other projects.
- Periodic travel to other IPEX facilities for data gathering
- Partake in maintaining 5S standards and implementing continuous improvement projects
- Fill in for Drawings coordinator as needed
- Other Duties as required or assigned
**Requirements**:
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Completion of a University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering
- Experience in 3D model design using CAD/CAM software
- Experience dealing with cross-functional teams an asset
- Experience using SolidWorks is required
- Experience in other CAD software is an asset
- Experience with technical measuring tools (callipers, Telescoping gauges, etc) is an asset
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good problem solving & analytical skills
- Able to draw conclusions from available information, validating assumptions as required
- Able to follow instructions and directions diligently
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Experience with VBA is an asset
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
