We are an expanding fire safety and drafting firm seeking a Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson with a specialization in fire protection systems. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of remote work, with 70% of the tasks conducted from home and 30% on-site. This full-time position spans a 35-hour work week, Monday to Friday.

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Conduct site walkthroughs to perform building surveys, draft floor plan schematics, and create as-builts.
- Draft schematic floor plans using computer-aided software, primarily AutoCAD.
- Participate in fire sprinkler system design and engineering, ensuring quality standards are met efficiently.
- Gather design-required information from clients, and manage hydrant flow tests, including coordination, performance, and report generation.
- Prepare drawings for existing fire sprinkler systems as needed.
- Communicate with project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 1 years' experience in mechanical engineering systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire) design and drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must.
- Adeptness in reviewing Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical plans.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication abilities and client relationship management.
- Valid driving license and personal vehicle.

**Desirable Assets (Not Mandatory)**:

- Experience with HydraCAD, AutoSprink, REVIT, and BIM Coordination.
- Qualifications like Fire Protection Engineering Technology Diploma, P. Eng Designation, E.I.T., CTech or CET designation, and other related certifications.
- Familiarity with NFPA codes, especially NFPA 13, 14, 20, and the Ontario Building Code as it relates to fire sprinkler design.

**Salary**: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
