**French bakery, pâtisserie, and café with few established locations across Vancouver. Over the past 11 years, we have established a reputation for specializing in artisanal French pastries, breads, and viennoiseries, all of which are handmade onsite throughout the year.**
We are currently hiring for a Pastry Chef to work at the store.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as required)**:
- Ensure recipes and standards are followed in regard to taste, presentation, and design
- Demonstrate safe food handling practices and follow safety procedures when using equipment and cleaning supplies
- Operate and monitor the proper functioning of equipment by following safety procedures and sanitizing work areas during and after use
- Work closely with teammates to support in the completion of daily tasks and in the planning and implementation of seasonal menus
**Experience and Qualifications**:
- 5 years minimum of pastry experience in a fine dining or pâtisserie setting
- A genuine passion and knowledge for food and pastries
- Prior work experience in a high volume production setting with experience in kitchen management
- Must be reliable, professional, and team-oriented
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Self-starter, flexible, and able to work independently; ability to multitask and ask for support when needed
- Organized and able to work under pressure with a diverse group of people
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Maintain an organized and clean prep/work area
- Dependable and hard-working
- Must be able to assist others as needed
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $22.50 per hour
