This position assists the Stores Supervisor in the day-to-day computerized storekeeping and overall operation at the Vehicle and Equipment Management Agency (VEMA), 1550 Dublin Winnipeg, Manitoba warehouse store location. The responsibility of the Storekeeper is to ensure timely, efficient and cost effective acquisition, warehousing and issuing of various materials that are related to VEMA programs and Heavy Duty equipment, construction and safety products.

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be physically capable of lifting and moving medium to heavy loads associated with storekeeping (10 kg - 25 kg or 25lbs - 60lbs)
- Must possess and maintain a valid full Class 5 Manitoba driver's licence
- Willingness to participate and obtain a Power Forklift and Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification via Air and by Ground
- Ability to travel and work for extended periods of time from various VEMA store locations (length: 3-5 days) within the Province of Manitoba

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Extensive experience and knowledge of heavy duty equipment and automotive equipment.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, sourcing, storing and distributing goods.
- Experience with clerical procedures including implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, with proficiency using online Inventory Management Stores Systems.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Experience working with the public and providing customer service to a diverse clientele.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.

**Desired**:

- Knowledge of transportation and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations.
- Knowledge of VEMA's products and services.

**Duties**:
The Storekeeper issues stock to meet the demands of mechanics, district staff and other government departments by receiving demands, checking stock availability on the online stock terminal, checking appropriations and accounts receivable numbers, entering data, checking computer generated issue slips for accuracy, and obtaining signatures for receipt of goods and filing issue slips. The incumbent receives shipments from suppliers to replenish stock by ensuring goods were ordered, signing for receipt of goods from supplier, identifying goods to ensure they conform to specifications and returning them if they do not, entering receipt of goods on the online terminal, labelling goods with stock code and warehousing goods_._
