The Storekeeper II assists in providing the delivery of Stores Services to meet user requirements. Work includes receiving and unpacking goods, checking packing slips and recording receipts, stocking shelves as well as issuing material and recording material issues to internal customers as required. Additional duties include preparing material for shipment, assisting with cycle counts and the annual inventory count, issuing and recording of tools and supplies, as well as general housekeeping duties. The incumbent will be required to assist senior Stores staff as required - which may include assisting with SK-IV purchasing functions - and will be required to assume the duties of more senior storekeepers during vacation periods. The incumbent may be required to provide general supervision and training to temporary staff (such as summer students).

**As the **_Storekeeper II_**_ _**you will**:

- Be responsible for all aspects of receiving and unpacking stock received, and for the shipment of stock.
- Duties include, but may not be limited to:

- May record purchase orders in the PeopleSoft purchasing system. Check and record material received against the original PeopleSoft purchase order. Check packing slips against stock received.
- Receive and unpack goods. Ensure that all material is unpacked properly and completely, placed in the correct bin location and handled and stored safely.
- Pack materials in a safe manner for shipment.
- Arrange for pickup by appropriate shipper.
- Load shipments, as required.
- Maintain good working business relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Accept orders and withdraw material from stock; checking for required commodity, size and lot; post issues to stock record account in accordance with established procedures.
- Record all stock issues in the Synergen Inventory Management System.
- Conduct general care taking duties within the general store or yard area, including garbage removal, floor sweeping, dusting, washing and snow shoveling.
- Check incoming and outgoing tools and related supplies used by Field Staff.
- Ensure all equipment, including forklifts, ladders and fire extinguishers, are safe and maintained in good working order.
- Load and unload material using a forklift, pallet jack and other related equipment, including stepladder and/or rolling ladder, as required.
- Locate material stored in stores.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and safe work practices.
- Other duties consistent with the position, as required/assigned, including, but not limited to:

- Provide practical on-the-job guidance and training in Stores related duties to temporary and junior personnel.
- Assume the duties of the Storekeeper IV during absences, as assigned/required.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the classification, as assigned.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Grade 12, GED, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Post-secondary courses in purchasing, warehouse management, economics, math or English would be an asset.
- Two years prior experience in a field related to the duties of the position.
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control systems and processes.
- Thorough knowledge of all relevant policies & procedures, including those of Corporate Materials Management.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of technical terminology required to conduct efficient business with suppliers, sales representatives and clients.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts, variety of outside suppliers and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard.
- Ability to effectively organize work.
- Ability to carry out stores related clerical duties.
- Ability to carry out mathematical computations required to order and account for material, tools and equipment.
- Ability to operate a personal computer using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards, safety precautions and regulations that are applicable to the position’s area of work.
- Knowledge of the Synergen Software System as it applies to Inventory and Stock Issuing.
- Working knowledge of the PeopleSoft Software System as it applies to Purchasing.

- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s Licence.
- Must be physically capable of performing all of the duties of this position which includes working from ladders and in hazardous locations.
