Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

**Position Overview**:
The GIS Manager, under the direction of the Program Manager-clinical/support, will be responsible for the creation, expansion, improvement and maintenance of the MTCC Geographic Information System (GIS). The incumbent will support and conduct spatial analysis and ad hoc mapping as required by the Centre and its clients. This will include the collection, storage and validation of data used to populate CAD data files as well as common map book resources for the pre-hospital EMS providers. The incumbent will be responsible for coordination and sharing of existing resources with other agencies to maximize efficiency while minimizing costs. The incumbent will coordinate with the local jurisdiction to promote accurate up-to-date attributed street file system and work with other Provincial departments, stakeholders and agencies to maximize the assimilation of data while minimizing duplicate efforts where possible. The incumbent will provide for up-to-date vehicle mapping resources, consistent with the MTCC manual and automated mapping and will provide supervision and work load assignments for GIS Coordinator.

**Experience**:

- Five years senior experience using and managing spatial data with ESRI GIS products.
- Experience with the use of computer technology, radio communications and telephony systems for dispatching is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Provincial and Federal suppliers of spatial data bases.
- Ability to assess evolving trends in GIS, problem-solving skills are assets.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.

**Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)**:

- University degree or certificate from an engineering, geomatics or geography program with GIS specialization.
- Maintain a working knowledge and to pursue training in the following areas as well as other areas and technologies as required by particular Centre initiatives, hardware and software:

- Microsoft software
- SQL
- Project
- .NET
- GIS Networks and servers
- TriTech CAD and CAD Administration
- ESRI Products
- As required for specific new analytical capabilities and to maintain currency with software releases
- Server development and administration
- ESRI developer environment
- MTS systems
- Vesta

**Special Training**:

- **Advanced Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) - (may be obtained following employment date)**
- Maintain EMD certification
- Continuing education
- **Emergency Medical Technician (Technician)
- (may be obtained following employment date)**
- Maintain license
- Continuing Education

**Certification/Licensure/Registration**:

- Maintenance of IAED Advanced EMD certification and licensure with the College of Paramedics of Manitoba EMR at an EMR level (or greater) registration.
- **May be obtained following employment date.**

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Ability to use front line equipment and systems.
- Effective clear communication to a broad range of individuals and organizations is required.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, rapid interpretation of evidence and effective and timely decision-making.
