We are currently searching for a Activities Coordinator to join our team. This is a **full-time**, **day/evening** shift position at our Riverbend location.
**Position Summary**:
The Activities Coordinator directs the Recreation department in the planning, implementing and evaluating recreation and leisure programs for our residents

**What You Bring to the Role**:
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in recreation/activities coordination working with seniors in a similar setting.
- Current CPR and First AID Certification.
- Demonstrates emotional intelligence (use of perception and understanding of the resident and families ‘emotions as well as one’s emotions to manage situations towards the goal of effective resident care).
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
- Must be flexible with schedule;
**Your Responsibilities**:
- Planning, organizing, promoting and running recreation programs that are suitable and enjoyable to the resident needs as per the recreation assessment (if applicable).
- Gathering suggestions/topics of interest from the seniors for recreation activities.
- Scheduling of the monthly calendar. Create and distribute recreation calendar and newsletter monthly.
- Planning and facilitating/attending outings and special events.
- Setting up for programs/special events.
- Seasonal set up/removal and inventory of site decorations.
- Related administration work (i.e. answering phones, various typing, calendars, etc.).
- Work with DOC/Building Manager and Administrative Assistant to ensure financial aspects of Recreation are accurately monitored, collected, etc..
- Display a positive and professional demeanor in representing the recreation department for the building.
- Other duties assigned.
**Salary**: $15.00-$30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Edmonton, AB T6R 2V9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
