Canterbury Hills Camp is located in the heart of the Dundas Valley Conservation Area. With over 60 years of camping history, Canterbury Hills has provided a place where forever memories are made. Children and youth have an opportunity to explore nature, creativity, and personal development through our unique program. Based on the philosophy of child-centered, unit based, and decentralization, campers at Canterbury Hills are able to tailor their own session with their unit, based on their needs and interests as they learn cooperation and leadership.

Adventure Camp Leaders specialize in our offsite expeditionary programs. They provide care, supervision and a memorable experience to campers in our Adventure Camp program (participants aged 13-15) and Leader-in-Training program (participants aged 15-16). Every week of the Adventure contract will include between 3-5 days of offsite expeditionary programming. Adventure Camp Leaders will guide program participants in hiking, camping, and canoeing trips along established routes on the Grand River and along the Niagara Escarpment.

Adventure Camp Leader contracts include 1 week of staff training and 5 weeks of expeditionary programs. Contract extensions up to 3 additional weeks assisting with our onsite camp programs can be negotiated.

**Adventure Camp Leaders**
- Arrival onsite by 12:00pm on Sunday, departure on Friday after end of week clean-up and debrief of each Adventure week
- Supervision of assigned Adventure or Expedition Unit (8-12 campers) aged 13 to 15 years old
- Completing inventory, packing, and maintenance of out-tripping gear
- Full participation in offsite expedition components for all contracted weeks
- Experience and comfort with paddling, multi day camping, and trip hiking necessary
- All meals provided

**All Camp Leaders will**:

- Have strong ability to work in a team environment
- Be able to support and encourage spiritual growth of campers
- Be able to relate well to a variety of ages
- Enjoy working with children and possess relevant soft skills in youth interaction
- Exhibit commitment to serving campers and staff as per the mission and values of Canterbury Hills Camp
- Welcome all and celebrate diversity within Canterbury Hills Camp
- Agree to the full term of employment and be available to work the appointed schedule

**Salary**: $680.00-$725.00 per week
