Camp Counsellor

Canterbury Hills Camp is located in the heart of the Dundas Valley Conservation Area. With over 60 years of camping history, Canterbury Hills has provided a place where forever memories are made. Children and youth have an opportunity to explore nature, creativity, and personal development through our unique program. Based on the philosophy of child-centered, unit based, and decentralization, campers at Canterbury Hills are able to tailor their own session with their unit, based on their needs and interests as they learn cooperation and leadership.

Canterbury Hills offers Day Camp, Bridge Camp, and Overnight Camp options for campers. We are currently hiring for camp leaders for each of the three above programs.

**Day Camp Leaders**
- Work Monday - Friday
- Commute daily to and from site
- Provide daily care, supervision, and activity facilitation for campers ages 6-10
- Work in staff teams to oversee groups of 10-12 campers each week
- Provide mentorship and leadership opportunities to our Leaders-in-Training
- Enjoy an active, outdoor work environment
- Enjoy a daily nutritious and delicious lunch (plus snacks)

**Bridge Camp Leaders**
- Work Monday - Friday
- Commute to and from site Monday - Tuesday and live in onsite accommodations Wednesday - Friday of each week
- Provide daily care, supervision, and activity facilitation for campers ages 7-12
- Work in staff teams to oversee groups of 10-12 campers each week
- Provide mentorship and leadership opportunities to our Leaders-in-Training
- Enjoy an active, outdoor work environment
- Enjoy a daily nutritious and delicious lunch (plus snacks)

**Overnight Cabin Leaders**
- Work Sunday afternoon - Friday evening
- Live in onsite accommodations each Sunday - Friday
- Provide daily care, supervision, and activity facilitation for campers ages 7-14
- Work in staff teams to oversee groups of 8-12 campers each week
- Provide mentorship and leadership opportunities to our Leaders-in-Training
- Enjoy an active, outdoor work environment
- Are provided with all meals, snacks, and onsite accommodation during the work term

**All Unit Leaders will**:

- Have strong ability to work in a team environment
- Be able to support and encourage spiritual growth of campers
- Be able to relate well to a variety of ages
- Enjoy working with children and possess relevant soft skills in youth interaction
- Exhibit commitment to serving campers and staff as per the mission and values of Canterbury Hills Camp

- Agree to the full term of employment and be available to work the appointed schedule

**Salary**: $550.00-$650.00 per week
