**Position Summary and General Duties**:
The primary function of the support staff is to ensure that Edgewood operates in a manner that is consistent with the goals and objectives of the treatment program. This position will support the Main building and the Ferguson Building.
This role has a schedule of Tues 2330-0730, Wed-Fri 2300-0700, supporting our Trauma Department.
Duties involve ensuring patient safety, patient admissions, answering telephone calls, assist with administering medications, monitoring patient activities, doing patient checks, and general duties as assigned by Clinical Supervisors. Support staff will facilitate, and co-lead groups as required and assist patients as required.
- Certificate from a recognized Health Care Worker educational and/or experience in related field an asset.
- CBT and DBT training an asset.
- Trauma informed training an asset.
- Fulfill requirements of patient admission process, experience in this area is preferred
- Good hearing and eyesight.
- Ability to deal effectively with conflict situations and patient dysregulation.
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in computer use.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Level C.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
- Criminal record check clearance through the Ministry of Justice.
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
- Negative TB test.
- Knowledge of mental health and addiction and the 12 steps an asset.The successful applicant will have a combination of education, training and experience in the field of addictions and mental health.
