Job Summary:
We are looking for talented highschool (Grade 11 & up) and post-secondary students with an interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) to help inspire children and teens in our afterschool and weekend STEAM programs. At The STEAM project, we develop projects and experiences that give kids hands-on opportunities to learn and build. The part-time positions being offered are in-person and we are located in the North end of Richmond Hill. **Please comment on your ability to commute to the Richmond Hill location in your Cover Letter.**

Mindset:

- Team-oriented and enjoys being social with other co-workers
- Aim to design the most enjoyable experience for kids participating in our programs
- Strive to ensure the greatest educational impact of the projects/program

Job Responsibilities:

- Pre-lesson preparation: review lesson plans and set up project stations and materials
- During lesson: Instruct lessons and guide students through project and activities
- After lesson: Complete student reviews and provide feedback to help improve lessons

**Required Skills**:
**Prior Experience/Skills in the following areas will be helpful**:

- Hands-on experience with hand and power tools, hand crafts, etc.
- Experience with Coding, robotics and/or Electronics
- Experience with 2D and 3D design software (eg. Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, AutoCAD)

**Experience working with Children and/or teens will be helpful**

**Safety Training in the following areas will be helpful**
- Emergency First Aid certification (Standard First Aid with CPR-C preferred)
- Experience with safety measures in a workshop and with fabrication equipment

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $15.50-$20.00 per hour
