Beta-Calco Inc. is looking for a Buyer/Purchaser that will be involved in the overall company day-to-day operations, by working with our suppliers, reviewing prices and quality of supplies while ensuring optimal stock levels are kept.

The Buyer/Purchaser will be highly motivated, detail oriented and have a strong understanding of supply chain procedures.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Enter purchase orders and create job work orders. Ensure accuracy in the creation of all orders.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery and solve challenges with vendors to meet production requirements. Partner with production on solutions to mitigate any risks or delays
- Analyze vendor performance and other business circumstances impacting Beta-Calco Inc. supply chain and recommend corrective actions
- Negotiate policies, pricing and contracts with various suppliers
- Review quality of purchased products and Ensure all production requirements are met. Follow up and closure of issues on non-conformance items.
- Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Search available products and potential vendors to find the best combination of quality, price, and delivery.
- Maintain accuracy of purchase parts information on the system
- Monitor stock levels and verify purchase requirements. Coordinate with Warehouse staff, maintain inventory levels required for production, considering vendor lead-times.
- Adjust reorder levels based on projected production requirements and vendor performance.
- Liaise with engineering and production to find the most appropriate solutions in the market
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve external & internal processes.
- Audit supplier plants, and conduct vendor interviews to stay informed about changes and advancements in the industry.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- The Purchaser will have proven work experience of 2+ years in a purchasing role
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP software (Infor - Cloud site Industrial an asset)
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- Effective relationship building skills.
- Understanding of supply chain procedures.
- MS Office experience including Word, Excel. Use of Google Cloud services such as Gmail and Google Docs.
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to conduct cost analyses.
- BSc in Logistics, Business Administration, SCM, or Math.
- Ability to evaluate market conditions and various suppliers.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to work well under pressure.
- Certification of Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) is preferred but not required

**Experience**:

- Purchasing: 2 years (required)
- ERP/MRP: 1 year (required)
- Infor: 1 year (preferred)
- Warehouse distribution: 1 year (preferred)

**Salary**: $23.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
