**Equipment Operator - Wheel Loader - Snow**

**Company Mission**

**Role Summary**

**Responsibilities**:

- They must be capable of managing the site in a productive and thorough manner allowing access to be unhindered during storms
- Basic mechanical maintenance and reporting of service issues, upkeep of equipment including: Air pressure of tires, fluid levels, greasing, fueling and washing
- SIte, job and equipment logs to be filled out and completed with high level of detail and accuracy for insurance reporting
- Maintain a neat and orderly workspace and storage area
- Be able to guide and direct other operators in a civil and efficient manner
- Check on equipment during down times to ensure proper operation when needed
- Long hours may be required including shifts longer than 12 hours.

**Must have skills**
- Minimum G Licence
- 3-5 years snow removal experience
- 3-5 years heavy equipment experience
- Equipment certifications for Wheel Loaders and Skid Steers
- Working cellular phone with data capability
- Reliable means of transportation to work site in all weather conditions
- Physically fit

**Nice-to-have skills**
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work alone or with a team for long hours

**Compensation**

Our starting wage for this position is $28/hr (with consideration based on experience and work ethic)

We guarantee minimum of 10 hours per week

Paid weekly

**Time**

This is contract work with set start date of November 1st and an end date of April 15th

On call 24/7 position

Shift work with some shifts possibly exceeding 12 hours

**Location**

Location of sites will be in the Cobourg area and on road transportation of machinery will be needed through storms

**Working Conditions**

The job of snow plowing and removal can be a tough one, during the worst weather we are expected to be present, available and ready to work. This includes working in icy, slushy, cold conditions through the night. Sometimes having to repair and tend to broken equipment in these conditions. We do however provide state of the art equipment with heat and radios. You should always expect the worst and have ample dry warm clothing, and a good pair of winter CSA approved boots( required). Although this is an operator position some heavy lifting and shoveling may be required occasionally.
