**Position**:Health and Safety Specialist

**Location**:Woodbridge

**Type of Employment**:Full-Time - Monday to Friday - 40 Hours per week

What to Expect

**SUMMARY**:The Health and Safety Specialist will leverage their safety skills and knowledge to develop a culture of safety within Strada Paving sites. The Health and Safety Coordinator plays a key role in managing the day-to-day safety operations of Strada Paving. As a safety leader, the HS Specialist ensures that Health and Safety policies are followed. The Health and Safety Coordinator is also responsible to maintain a safe, discrimination free, positive workplace environment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and review on a regular basis all policies and documentation.
- Review all Change Control documentation to assess any impact/risk.
- Train or work directly with the HR team to ensure comprehension and compliance to policies.
- Work with training department to develop robust EHS training programs.
- Maintain MSDS documentation for all sites.
- Ensure Strada Paving companies are fully compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement compliance improvement programs.
- Oversee OH&S meetings. Review all Workplace Inspection audits and implement any actions/recommendations.
- When applicable, investigate any accidents/injuries/property damage and complete any required documentation resulting from these including WCB’s / WSIB documentation.
- Implement any preventative actions as a result of investigations.
- Coordinate and Purchase all PPE.
- Audit facilities to ensure compliance.

What You Need

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor degree in OH&S.
- Excellent understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
- CRSP® designation preferred.
- Experience working with provincial worker’s compensation boards and WSIB.
- Strong communication & organizational skills.
- Knowledge of recognized Health and Safety best practices.
- Exceptional Keyboard and Computer literacy skills.
- Able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
