**The salary range for this position is**:
**Recruitment range: $61,935 - $69,710 starting salary** determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

**Performance range: starting salary to max of $**81,286** is available through annual performance increases
- Job SummaryReporting to the Analytics and Business Intelligence Manager, the Data Analyst, Report Writer plays a central role in establishing a data driven culture across Alumni and Development. The Data Analyst, Report Writer works closely with the Senior Data Analyst and Business Analyst positions to develop data analytics and business intelligence solutions for Alumni and Development and campus partners.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead specialist for building complex, segmented queries, and lists in Raiser’s Edge for internal and external audiences.
- Write reports and design and develop data visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) that guide the planning and operations of fundraising and alumni engagement activities at UVic.
- Assist the Senior Data Analyst with managing very large sets of highly confidential Alumni and Development data ensuring it is clean, consistent, accessible, interoperable, secured, defined, and understood.
- Job RequirementsThis position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience plus at least 2 years of experience:

- Writing reports from Raiser’s Edge data, including fundraising, donor lifecycle, and prospect management reports.
- Data modelling
- Designing and developing business intelligence dashboards and reports

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge requirements include:

- Knowledge and experience creating queries, lists, segmentations, and reports in a fundraising environment.
- Expert ability to retrieve, analyze and report on fundraising data using Raiser’s Edge.
- Proven data modelling skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relational databases and data structures.
- Familiarity with ETL concepts.
- Statistical and data analysis and exploration skills.
- The design and operation of Business Intelligence systems such as NXT Report Builder, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with project management processes.

- Familiarity with higher education and Alumni and Development business processes.
- Power BI or Tableau experience.
- Raiser’s Edge NXT Lists and Report Builder experience.
- SQL knowledge.
