**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Lead Engineer/Site Capital and Projects Manager, the Electrical/Controls Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the development and implementation of controls and electrical installations. This position will help build the electrical and controls capability needed for a more automated future operation.
**How You Can Be the Impact**
- Ensure, understand & adhere to all aspects of SABIC/SHPP EHSS requirements.
- Participate in pre-start safety reviews and site Management of Change (MoC) processes by providing thorough review, logbook entry and support of Sr. Electrical Controls Technician during site inspections.
- Use, verify, and maintain instrumentation equipment and systems.
**Tasks to be completed under the supervision of the Senior Electrical Controls Technician**:
- Assemble, test, modify and maintain electrical circuits and equipment to fulfill requirements and specifications
- Support installation and troubleshooting static and rotating electrical machines and associated control systems
- Prepare and maintain records and documentation systems.
- Perform tasks in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and ethical principles.
- Assist in commissioning, testing and troubleshooting electrical power systems
- Select electrical equipment, systems and components to fulfill the requirements and specifications
- Familiar with Arc Flash regulations, CSA Z462 Electrical Safety.
**What Matters to SABIC (Minimum Qualifications)**
- Electrical /Electromechanical Engineering Technology/Technician Program Graduate
- Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team including operations, process improvement, maintenance and projects
- Working knowledge of Control Systems. PLC Control, distributed IO and instrumentation.
- General knowledge of SCADA/HMI systems
- Unrestricted authorization to work in Canada
**Desirable Qualifications and Experience**
- Exposure to G.E. Proficy, Siemens TIA Portal, Inductive Automation Ignition and Cimplicity would be an asset.
- Certified Electrician
- Motor control basics including AC & DC Drives.
- AutoCad experience preferred.
