Fire Pump Technician Apprentice

We are looking for a mechanically-inclined reliable team member to work and perform preventative and corrective maintenance to life safety pumps.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Assist with the maintenance and installation of all mechanical engine/motors and pumps.
- Operate and test equipment (run-ups), and produce timely and detailed service reports and fill out log books.
- Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, hose repairs, battery replacements, and other assorted services, including packing and seal replacement, and control valve repairs/service.
- Recondition and replace assorted parts.
- Diagnose problem area for any significant wear and tear on equipment.
- Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) policies and regulations are being adhered to.
- Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner

**Additional Requirements**:

- Willing to travel (although, majority of work is within the local GTA).
- Fluent in English language (written and verbal) with good communication skills
- Able to use laptops/tablet for reports, as well as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Must be safety-oriented, able to troubleshoot issues, and carry out/follow instructions.
- Basic electrical/electronic knowledge
- Knowledge of NFPA 25 & 20 codes and standards
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence with relatively clean abstract or own vehicle/insurance.
- Essential training certifications (WHMIS, 4-Steps, First Aid/CPR, etc.)
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, as heavy lifting is required.
- Own hand tools/cordless tools

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
