Reports to: Plant Manager

Pay: To be determined based on skills

Shift & Hours: Days: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Job Purpose: Performs operations of gear cutting. Set ups, indicate and cut gears, clean, oil machines.

**Duties / Responsibilities**
- Use equipment such as hobb machines, maag machines, shapers, fellows, grinders.
- Set up and operate all gear tooth profile and gear cutting machines, including: Gould EBerhardt, PFauter, Tos, Liebherr, China, David Brown, MAAG
- Read and interpret gear cut data and drawings and qualify own work to ensure parts are to information provided by engineering and qualify control
- Machine monitoring such as measuring teeth, making adjustments, changing blades and cutters
- Maintain machinery - monitoring oil levels, removal of cuttings and communicate equipment issues to maintenance.
- Other duties as required

**Skills / Qualifications**
- Performs work requiring general trades knowledge.
- Works under minimum technical direction from the Production Manager.
- Troubleshoots & implements solutions to gear cutting or grinding problems.
- Hand/eye co-ordination
- Ability to indicate
- Good listening skills and follows direction
- Good math skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read blueprints

**Experience / Education**
- Licensed Machinist or Equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred:

- rough or finish gear cutting
- grinding parts to tight tolerances
- Mechanically inclined
- Crane experience is an asset
