**Position Summary**

(35 hours/week)

Start date: September 1, 2023

Location: Remote

**Salary**: $3,500 per month for 6 months.

CheckingIn at its core is a wellness and reconnection tool, meant to help users feel safe to begin or continue on their healing journey. We are currently working with the Tla’amin nation to build a platform for the community that will include language, culture, traditional knowledge, stories, songs, wellness resources and ways of being Tla’amin.

We are looking for someone to support the coordination for the creation and ongoing content for the app. The role will be a 6 month contractor position, which may be extended and will work in consultation with the CheckingIn team, Tla’amin community members and Nation staff.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work in-person with community members to determine and make recommendations on the needs of programs and content to be created.
- Check in with all departments at the Tla’amin Nation to identify current content and programs that could be leveraged and used in the app.
- Coordinate and facilitate the meetings with community members and the digital media team to record content for the app.
- To research online additional content that is available and may be sourced for the use of the tool.
- To coordinate and upload the completed content into the Tla’amin app.
- To work with Finance to coordinate the honorarium payments for knowledge keepers and content creators for the app.
- To coordinate the language translation for the app.
- To coordinate a community release and launch plan for the app.
- To offer support to community members who are downloading and using the tool as needed.
- Maintaining the cross-departmental events and program calendar in the app.

**Qualifications**
- Knowledge of the Tla’amin Nation departments, and Tla’amin people
- Experience in a computerized office environment is preferred
- Excellent organizational and scheduling skills
- The ability to work in a team and be open to guidance
- Great verbal and written communication
- Enjoys storytelling and has a strong imagination
- The ability to work in a flexible environment and be adaptable
- Ethics and integrity, working with confidential materials and information
- An understanding of colonization, the impacts on Indigenous peoples, as well as the legacy of racism, discrimination, and microaggressions
- *Must live within the Tla'amin Community*

**Education, Experience**
- Knowledge and familiarity with computers and apps is essential for this role.
- Proficient in MS Office including Teams, Word, Excel
- No formal education is necessary, the most important aspect of this role is to be connected within the community.

**Working Conditions**
- Work is performed in a remote setting.
- Occasional travel to attend meetings or training may be required.
