**Summary**:
The Set-up /Machine operator is responsible to set up and operate all machinery in order to produce quality products efficiently to the processes set forth by the company. This includes meeting quality and run at rate expectations. They must work together with the other shifts as a team and on their own. The job does require overtime when needed to keep production running.

**Responsibilities**
- To behave in a manner in accordance with the plant policies and procedures
- Process outgoing products for shipment.
- Co-ordinate set up duties with supervisor to optimize machine up time.
- Follow all company procedures for setting up tooling and other equipment.
- Complete proper documentation to ensure correct tooling set up.
- Ensure a continuous supply of material, to maintain zero downtime.
- Continuously keep tooling areas and workstations organized and clean.
- Sign off on all set ups for quality and performance. Ensuring the machine operator can produce 100% defect free parts at rate.
- Report all issues in regards to tooling and set up to the supervisor.
- Inspect, and analyze incoming raw material to determine quality products.
- Provide a clean, organized, and safe workplace.
- Communicate effectively and work together with alternate shifts.
- Ensure ISO procedures such as proper documentation is performed.
- Train and coach other employees
- Responsible to work in an open and sharing manner so that all employees can share the knowledge of production procedures.
- Work with production supervisors to coordinate production startups, shutdowns and changeovers
- Responsible to assist quality control and quarantine incorrect materials.
- Responsible for requesting materials needed to perform your duties.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
- Communicate with production personnel and Shift Supervisors.
- Preform all daily safety and maintenance checks needed for your assigned equipment. If not capable of making such a check it must be reported to the Supervisor immediately.
- Ensure a clean and safe work area
- Assist in production sorting and inspection as necessary
- Perform duties of a machine operator as necessary
- Other duties as assigned

**Abilities**
- Must be able to read and interpret sketches and blue prints.
- Must have knowledge of necessary production paperwork
- Able to multitask in a high pace environment
- Ability to troubleshoot situations with little assistance from supervisors

**Educational Requirements**
- Secondary education or equivalent
- At least 2 years prior experience in Set-up role in a manufacturing environment
- Must be Fluent in English
- Must have a valid fork lift license
- Excellent reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process, procedures and machinery
- Experience with measuring tools and reading blue prints
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 or Equivalent

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift 50 Lbs.
- Good hand/ eye coordination
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery

**Compliance Required**:

- Compliance with all Mechtron Quality System Policies and Procedures

**Work Environment**:
Work is in a loud, noisy environment, factory setting.

**All staff is expected to be flexible in terms of providing support and backup for functions outside of their job description and for working outside their normal working hours/location when necessary.**
