**Responsibilities**:
Assist in setting up and maintaining greenhouse experiments, including preparing planting materials, biological inoculants, and maintaining plant health. Collect and record data on plant development, fungal colonization, and other experimental parameters. Monitor and maintain greenhouse conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and light levels. Prepare samples for laboratory analysis and assist in lab procedures (training will be provided). Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures and findings. Collaborate with other lab members to troubleshoot and optimize experimental protocols. Adhere to lab safety protocols and hazard identification procedures. Participate in training sessions on plant and soil sampling techniques, AMF identification and quantification, data collection, and lab safety through Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and hands-on demonstrations. General maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipment in lab and greenhouse.**Required Qualifications**

**Essential Skills**:

- Enrolled in a program at Lethbridge Polytechnic, preferably in biology, environmental science, agriculture, or a related field. Students enrolled in other programs will also be considered with applicable experience.
- A minimum of one years of laboratory experience (academic or professional) required.
- Interest in mycology, ecology, or plant sciences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Should wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, protective glasses, mask, etc., as required.
- WHIMIS and Biosafety training completed or to be completed in the first week of work.
- Capacity to consistency and meticulously adhere to protocol.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to work a flexible schedule.
- Comfortable with field/greenhouse work and laboratory environment.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks as required.
- Organized, high attention to detail, reliable and honest.
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Driver’s license: Class 5.

**Preferred Qualifications**

**Experience Preferred**:

- Experience working with native plants.
- Familiarity with greenhouse production techniques. Basic knowledge of fungal biology or soil ecology.
- Previous experience with data collection and/or laboratory protocols (training can be provided).
