**Salary**: $3,241.74 to $4,362.44 bi-weekly ($84,609 - $113,859/year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
- Reporting to the Director of Cumulative Effects Management Planning, the Manager, Cumulative Effects oversees several key components of the cumulative effects management system in Alberta, including land use plan and environmental management framework development and implementation.
As Manager, Cumulative Effects, you will provide leadership to a team of land use planners and project management specialists, and will be involved in the science and technical components of land use planning where your knowledge and experience will guide the development of strategic policy.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Working closely with the Director and Branch leadership team, provide support on the ongoing management of issues, strategies and activities related to cumulative effects management.
- Oversee the development and implementation of environmental management frameworks.
- Facilitate the development and collation of departmental input into regional planning.
- Work collaboratively with ministry and cross-ministry colleagues, Indigenous communities and organizations, and key stakeholders, incorporating multiple interests and perspectives into land use and environmental plans. This includes sharing information, communicating ministry's priorities and positions, developing partnerships and working relationships, identifying opportunities for collaboration, proposing strategies, encouraging innovation, and exchanging best practices and opportunities.
- Provide expert advice, guidance and leadership regarding natural resource management or land use related policies, standards and methodologies to senior executives (e.g., Minister, Deputy Minister or equivalent).
- Lead consultations and policy reviews with internal and external partners/specialists to gather input on complex natural resource management or planning issues; and to recommend regulatory changes consistent with government priorities.
- Prepare reports and documents to support decision making (e.g., Cabinet Submissions, policy shifts, briefings, position papers, proposals and reports related to cumulative effects management). This may include assessing and collating input under challenging timelines.

**Qualifications**:
- University graduation in a field related to the position assignment (e.g. environmental sciences, natural resource management or a related field), supplemented by four years related experience in environmental planning and management. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.
