Enhance understanding of quality improvement's purpose and practice by collaborating with social services teams within the organization on the development, interpretation, and implementation of quality improvement standards, as well as assist with communication to frontline Family & Community Supports and Diversability sector employees.
In Your Role You Will
- Plans and conducts quality audits of processes/service delivery in this social services agency and review documentation (work instructions, manuals, records, etc.) to identify problems
- Analyze data to determine cause/effect and develop potential corrective actions to
- Analyze data obtained through observation, testing, sampling, and interviews to ensure consistency with established requirements for performance, quality, safety, and reliability.
- Plan, organize, conduct, and direct improvement projects. May develop and implement strategies to improve processes.
- Collaborate with Director of Quality to develop plans, timelines and action plans to address necessary revisions in practices, so they align with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Participate in provincial Quality Improvement committee(s) which advises, monitors operations, reviews proposed policy changes and provides recommendations around changes in policy and/or procedure(s) to the Director of Quality and/or Policy Analyst.
- Participate in development and approval of new and revised processes and forms.
- Consult on the review and update of program manuals and handbooks.
- File accreditation intent information package and other reports.
- Consult with individual Directors in the conformance to accreditation standards, methods of documentation and reporting.
- Participate in organization risk management activities
- Provide leadership and is a role model to staff and the community in the areas of quality assurance and quality improvement.
The Position
The Quality Improvement Specialist assists the organization with quality improvements in order to attain the highest quality of client care, stakeholder satisfaction, and organizational sustainability.
You will serve as the primary liaison with program directors in quality assurance/improvement issues and as a resource to interdisciplinary teams.

- A Diploma or Degree in one of the humanities, social sciences or related field.
- Minimum 4 years direct program delivery experience in community social services, healthcare or quality assurance experience in a related field.
- Other equivalent combinations of training, education and experience may be considered.
- Experience as an accreditation surveyor an asset.
- Ability to obtain certification as CARF surveyor is desired.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and outcome evaluation.
- Commitment to quality assurance; knowledge of CARF and related accreditation and certification requirements.
- Some travel required. (25%)
