Haccp Coordinator

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist Sr. QA Director in Implementing, verifying, and validating regulatory compliance of food safety programs and processes in all areas including, but not limited to, transportation, storage, purchasing, equipment, training, sanitation, pest control, recall, and allergens
- Leading plant team in establishing HACCP System (HACCP Plan and Prerequisite Programs) and ensuring regulatory and client requirements are achieved. Ensuring annual maintenance of the HACCP system is completed; remaining current with CFIA and regulatory amendments
- Adding new products to the appropriate HACCP plans prior to their first production; revising HACCP plans to include changes to existing products, processes, and the plant. Ensure new product checklists are completed and specifications/QA-Production forms are ready prior to first production and necessary adjustments are done to related HACCP plan.
- Distributing and reviewing new and revised SQF/HACCP SOP’s and forms with the employee responsible for the SOP and related form(s); checking forms for compliance with SOP’s and following up with employee
- Scheduling and leading or co-leading HACCP meetings. Providing GMP/HACCP training for new employees; conducting refresher training annually
- Perform facility audits on a monthly basis and ensure proper documentation. Ensuring all monitoring and verification procedures for Prerequisite and HACCP programs are completed at the established frequencies and complied to the written program.
- Plan and lead SQF internal audit on a monthly basis and prepare detailed report. Follow up with NCs to ensure they are closed on a timely manner.
- Conduct monthly verification of SOPs and update related matrix
- Support Senior FSQA / RD Director for all regulatory, customer, and third-party compliance audits; assisting in the follow up of corrective actions from audits
- Communicating product quality and food safety standards and procedures to employees, supervisors, and other staff; auditing production lines to ensure compliance within specifications
- Ensure proper execution of Quality and Food Safety Programs and Protocols on the production floor
- Review and verify raw material COA and ensure they are received from approved list of vendors
- Provide customers with certificates of analysis
- Ensure raw material random verification and product testing are completed per set schedule
- Following Company policies and procedures, including Company safety policies and procedures, as well as those set out by WorkSafeBC.
- Other duties (QC technician tasks, sample request inquiries, other projects) as assigned

**Requirements, Skills & Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology or Chemistry
- HACCP, Preventative Controls Qualified Individual and SQF Practitioner certifications
- Safe Food for Canadian Regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present effectively to groups
- Two to three years of related food industry experience
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and ensure significant issues are communicated clearly to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
- Strong analytical skills required for data interpretation and analysis
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Must be able to interface effectively with a wide variety of associates
- Possess ability to communicate concepts, systems, procedures, etc., in a training environment
- Experience in training large groups is beneficial
- Must possess leadership ability to inspire others to achieve desired results
- Flexible and adaptable to learning and understand new technologies

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
